Anna Kendrick began auditioning to Broadway productions as a teenager in Deering High School in Portland. At the age of 12, she received her first role in a major theatre production in High Society. Despite being a young child the performance earned her numerous nominations and awards. She was an actress in A Little Night Music as an actress in a part-time capacity. She made her film debut at Camp in that same year, age fifteen. Kendrick received awards for her performance as well as for her performance in Rocket Science 2007 at age 15.
