Kristen Anne Bell is an American actress and performer born in 1980. Her parents include Tom Bell and Lorelei Frygier and both are television news directors. Bell was raised and from Huntington Woods Michigan. She is from Polish descent (mother) in addition to German, English and Scottish (father). Kristen was already a talented entertainer in the early stages. In 1992, she went to her first audition and won a role in Raggedy Ann and Andy. Bell's mom introduced her to an agent before she was 13, and she was subsequently cast in television advertisements for newspapers and commercials. At this time, she also began training in private acting. Bell played a small part that was not credited to her for her part in Polish Wedding (1998), in 1998. Bell was a member of the music and drama club at Shrine Catholic High School. The Wizard of Oz was presented by the high school and she took home the part of Dorothy. Bell went to New York City for the Tisch School of the Arts to study musical theater after the completion of her studies. Bell graduated from college in 2001 when she landed the role of Becky to play Tom Sawyer. In the same year, she starred in Pootie Tang however, the scene in which Bell made an appearance was cut.
