Mary McCormack was an American actress best known for her role as the main character in TV programs like "Murder One", "The West Wing", "In Plain Sight" and Loaded. Her parents were a therapist as well as an ice cream shop owner, McCormack hails from a family that has no connection to the world of entertainment. She attended Wardlaw-Hartridge School, and following the separation of parents 1990 then went on to Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in the field of comparative arts. She began her career as a child when she appeared in the stage production 'Amahl & the Night Visitors,' a Christmas operetta.
